CARES will be commemorating World AIDS Day by holding a community-wide awareness event on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sammie Smith/Family Investment Center, located at 301 Martin Luther King Drive, (M-139) in Benton Harbor.

Local youth will display their knowledge of the universal problem of HIV/AIDS through writings, art, songs and dance. There will be a roundtable discussion moderated by CARES Prevention Specialist Willie Mitchell. Representatives from local government, health agencies and grass roots organizations will be on hand to show their support in the prevention of HIV/AIDS and support for those affected by it.
